What You’ll Learn On An Airless Spray Plaster Course

You’ll start by learning the foundations of spray plastering and then go on to apply your new-found knowledge, practising what you’ve learnt, before completing an assessment. During the two days, you’ll learn:

  • Taping and jointing
  • Internal and external corner joints
  • Health and safety protocols
  • Setting up the machine
  • Trowelling
  • Equipment cleaning and maintenance
  • Fault findings
  • Second coat plaster
  • Sanding corners and machine sanding
  • Spraying paint over plaster

What You’ll Be Able To Do After Your Course

Your airless spray plaster course will end with a practical assessment. Once you’ve completed this assessment, you will know:

 

  • The health and safety regulations and control measures regarding spray plaster
  • The available tools, products and machines to invest in
  • How to spray plaster walls and ceilings
  • How to smooth off the spray plaster will either a trowel or spatula
  • The correct techniques for finishing corners 
  • How to carry out basic machine maintenance
  • How to sand the plaster by hand or machine sander

City & Guilds Assured Spray Plastering Courses

Along with several of our other courses, this airless spray plaster course is included in our City & Guilds Assured Programme, meaning you’ll gain a City & Guilds accreditation upon successful completion of the course. 


This means that the spray plaster course includes practical and written assessments, and successful completion of the assessments is compulsory in order to pass the course. If anyone requires additional help to complete the written assessment, please contact us to discuss how we can help. If anyone is unable to complete the assessment on the day, they’ll receive a PaintTech Training Academy Certificate of Participation and will be given an opportunity to attend an additional assessment day.

An airless spray plaster course with PaintTech starts at £846. This is for a two-day course and includes a City & Guilds Accreditation once complete. For help to pay for your course, you can get CITB funding that will cover the entire cost. We can help you with the application to make sure you get the funding in place and can start your course.

Spray plastering courses are spread across two days. The day starts at 9am and we aim to have finished by 4.30pm. This gives us enough time to cover the theoretical elements of your course, demonstrate the techniques discussed, and then allow you to practise what you’ve learnt. We also allow plenty of time for practical and written assessments and to present you with your qualification.
