Introduction To Paper Hanging

This is the ideal starting point for anyone wanting to develop their wallpapering skills. Over the two days, you will learn the basics of wallpapering, including wall preparation, tool selection, and foundation paper installation. The main focus of the course will be on developing your ability to hang non-matching vinyl wallpaper in different scenarios.

As well as wallpaper courses, we have a large number of other courses to help you refine your painting and decorating skills. These include spraying courses where you’ll learn how to use airless spray technology in various scenarios, including how to spray UPVC, which is a growing market. Our decorative finishing courses teach techniques for worktop refurbishment, marbling techniques and Venetian polished plaster, among many others.

Wallpaper Courses FAQs

A wallpaper course with PaintTech covers 2 days. Our courses start at 9am and will finish at 4.30pm. This gives us enough time to go through the knowledge and theory that you need to know, as well as other modules such as safety, and then plenty of time to get hands on and try out what you’ve learnt.

Depending on the particular wallpaper course you are taking, costs range from between £540 to £980. CITB funding is available to pay for all of your course if you meet eligible criteria, and PaintTech can help you secure this funding. You can speak to us before you book if you’d like more help with course costs. Students also receive a 20% discount off Graham and Brown wallpapers.

We have wallpaper courses in both the North and the South of England to make sure we’re accessible to as many people as possible. Courses in the North are located in Preston, Lancashire. You can come off at Junction 21 from the M6 to get to us easily. Our classes in the South are in Edenbridge, Kent just south of the M25, exiting at Junction 6.

We’ll provide you with the appropriate equipment on the day of your wallpapering course for you to practise the techniques and learn how to safely handle any tools. We can also supply PPE for safety. You’ll need to wear suitable shoes and clothing that you don’t mind getting dirty.
