My trip with Pete to the Cambridgeshire Hub for the spray granite course

Saturday 14th September, it’s 4 am, and the alarm has just gone off.  Yes, you read that right, 4 am! Pete and I are visiting the Cambridge Hub today for the Spray Granite for Interior Surfaces course with Wayne Marshall.
We have known Wayne for quite some time now. We were delighted to welcome him on board to teach our uPVC course at Preston and Edenbridge centres. Now that he has just moved his business to larger premises, he can also offer courses there.  The new unit is in March, Cambridgeshire, and it’s pretty impressive, boasting a showroom for kitchen and uPVC refurbishments and showcasing the multiple uses for spray granite.
Pete and I are based in Preston, so it’s short of 4 hours for us to get there, but we decided to set off early rather than go the night before as we figured the drive would be nice and quiet at that time in the morning.
It was a very pleasant drive as well, although going over Woodhead Pass in the pitch black was a little unnerving, well for me as the passenger it was, but Pete loved driving it!
We were greeted on arrival at the Cambridge Hub by Wayne and his wonderful family, Kay, Daryann and Tom, and the students had just started to arrive as well.

Heading into class

Class started promptly once everyone was settled, and then the fun began!
After introductions and a little bit of a classroom session, everyone took to priming their boards, ready to try their first spray granite; the students were doing a mixture of light, medium and heavy builds.
Wayne thoroughly demonstrated the process, and the students began to have a go with smiles on their faces one by one. I watched as they all sprayed the granite on.
They are going to do other things this afternoon and look at sanding options, top coats, etc, but for now, as I sit here and write this just approaching lunchtime, I can already see what a fabulous course this is and yet another light bulb moment for many.
The spray granite is so versatile; I’m already planning in my head where I might like to have this in my home; I have just got to get Pete to do it haha.

Incidentally, the next course running at the Cambridge Hub is on Saturday 26th October, so if you’ve been undecided whether or not to give it a go, I’d say go for it. You will love it, and you will definitely see the potential for the new services you could now offer to your clients. Additional dates when live will show below.
