The next level in Airless spraying -

Take your spraying skills to the next level with our two-day Advanced Airless Spraying Course. This hands-on training is designed for decorators who already have airless spraying experience and want to refine their technique, increase efficiency, and master more advanced setups.

You’ll work through heated hose systems, specialist tips, jet rollers, Nespri applications, and full real-world room sets – including walls, ceilings, and woodwork. We also cover troubleshooting, spray pattern control, system optimisation, and achieving high-build finishes with less overspray and downtime.

You will need to arrive by 8:30am to start at 9.00am and we aim to finish by 4:30pm.

Our two day advanced airless spraying courses builds on your existing airless spraying the knowledge and practical skills needed to advance. This course is split over two days.

What You'll Learn in Advanced Airless Spray Painting Training

The advanced airless course is mainly practical and covers many little-known techniques that will improve your skill level and make you more productive.

Your airless spray painting training will include:

  • Adding accessories for maximum gain and increase speed
  • Advanced masking solutions

What to expect on your Advanced airless spray painting course

Each day on your advanced airless spray painting course will look different. Over the two day course, you will learn the following:

Day 1

  • Choosing the right spray system to fit your different job types
  • Masking and prep work in real room sets (windows, sockets, sills, etc.)
  • Heated hose setup and testing with product testing
  • Understanding overspray, thinning ratios, and drying times
  • Paint Micron testing and thixotropic behaviour explained
  • Spraying with Cordless Spray units: the Pros & Cons
  • Introduction to the Nespri system and 2-coat-in-1 spraying
  • Matching paints, tips, and accessories for speed and efficiency

Day 2

  • Heated hose recap and live testing with woodwork systems
  • Jet rollers vs pressure rollers – which suits your workflow best
  • Spraying skirting, architraves, and kitchen doors with Nespri systems
  • Tip testing for walls vs woodwork: fan size, orifice, and paint build
  • Product comparisons (primers, topcoats, heated vs unheated)
  • Hands-on sprayer servicing and strip-down demo (packings, pistons, valves)
  • Troubleshooting spray faults and setup issues on site
  • Final review, system checklist, Q&A, and certification

What to bring with you 

  • NI number and photo ID (we will need this to enter you onto the Construction Training Register. This can be a driving licence, passport, ID Card or CSCS card.) 
  • Clothes you don’t mind getting messy (hopefully they won’t at all but just in case!) 
  • A mask – we have struggled to get stock of our disposable masks so do bring your own if you have one. 
  • We ask you to please bring your own packed lunch. You will be given a lunch break so if you prefer to go to the shop to purchase something that’s no problem. 
  • If you are a CITB registered employer then please bring your CITB registration number so we can process your grant claim for the course.

Directions

The site is just a short drive from the M25 and approximately 30 minutes from Gatwick Airport. Edenbridge Train Station is less than 10 minutes by car. The postcode will take you to Gabriels Farm or Gabriels Fishery (depending which direction you come from) so look out for the large yellow signs at the end of the drive. As you turn into Gabriels Farm look out for a green metal gate on the left hand side and a telegraph pole with Unit 42 written on it. We are the end 2 units in a green metal polytunnel style unit and the car park is at the end of that driveway. Please park considerately and do not block the containers.

There are several hotels and B&B’s in the Edenbridge area such as Ye Old Crowne, Lingfield is a short drive away with rooms at The Star pub, or alternatively  East Grinstead is a larger town with a Premier Inn and Travelodge plus lots more food choices for the even

Directions

If using a SATNAV, the postcode can be temperamental. When you are on Chain Caul Way look out for a large white pipe that runs overhead across the road, and just next to that is the signage & entrance for Anchorage Business Park. As you enter the park the unit is the first one on your left hand side. There is plenty of parking available but please only use the bays marked ‘A1’ or ‘Visitor’. Once parked, come in through the door and up the stairs. 

Preston Lancs Train Station is around a 10 minute drive away and there are several nearby hotels if you need to stay over, including The Premier Inn in Preston City Centre.

We can only give you so much information on our Intensive Airless course over the 2 days, so this course builds on the skills and knowledge learnt previously.

Advanced Airless Spray Training FAQs

Our advanced airless spraying course is for anyone who has already completed our Intensive Airless course or anyone who has completed a similar course with another training provider. Please do not book this course if you have no or little airless spraying experience or knowledge.

The Advanced Airless paint spraying training with PaintTech is £1080 including vat. This is for a two day course which, upon completion, you’ll receive a PaintTech Academy Certificate of completion. You can access CITB funding for your course, which will cover 70% of the cost if you meet the criteria. This means you can get started with our courses and be on your way to success without worrying about paying for the whole course fee yourself.

You’ll need to wear appropriate clothing and footwear on both days of your course as you’ll be using the paint spray equipment. We’ll provide you with the equipment to use during the course, as well as appropriate PPE. Full details of everything you need will be sent prior to the course so you can be fully prepared.

Our courses are based in Preston in the North West and Kent in the South. Both locations are easy and convenient to get to. Our Preston location is just off the M6 motorway, leaving at junction 21, while Edenbridge in Kent is South of the M25, exiting at Junction 6.

You don’t need any formal qualifications to become a paint sprayer. However, completing a spray painting course teaches you the correct way to use equipment and spray multiple surfaces for a flawless finish. You’ll learn safety protocols, surface preparation, and finishing techniques, and be given a certification that proves you are qualified. This helps you to stand out amongst any competition whether as an entrepreneur or when applying for jobs in the industry.
