When spraying flat, we spray the fronts first; here's why.

We spray the fronts of the doors first because we believe they are the most important part of the door. In our experience, when you spray the sides first, atomized paint lands on the front of the door. When this dries on a dry, unpainted surface, you are often left with a rough or textured finish underneath the paint. But, when you spray the front first, then the sides, the atomised paint from the sides lands into the already wet paint on the fronts, pulling it together.

What's our go-to tip and pressure combo when spraying kitchens using airless?

Well, firstly, it depends on a few variables: paint, temperature, etc so always make sure to test your set up but here's our set-up for this day.

Tip: Tritech Ultra 310
Pressure: 1500psi

I know we bang on about spraying vertically a lot because that's our preferred method. But does that mean we don't spray flat? Judging by our PSDR SprayTwirly™, I'd say we do!

Why have we always found pre-painted kitchens harder to spray?
Firstly, you always have to sand back further than you think; if the paint is going to fail, odds are it'll be at the previous paint level. Because we know our products, we know the primer and top coat adhere well to each other, so if it pulls, it's going to pull from the existing paint.
So what can you do? Sand back further than you think, and make sure you factor this into the price.
You know you're going to have to spend more time prepping so make sure you're charging for it.

How far would you sand back on previously painted kitchens?
In our opinion more than you think, especially around the edges!

For us, previously painted kitchens can be the hardest to spray. When sanding, we would sand almost back to the original wood, especially on the sides. When we are pricing a previously painted kitchen, we would charge a little bit extra based on the fact that we would have to spend more time sanding than we would on, let's say, an oak kitchen.

The amount of Mirka Goldflex the boys go through is crazy! What's even crazier is that some people still have never heard of it!
