Discover More About Polished Plaster, Also Known as Venetian Plaster

Fancy adding something special to your decorating business? Venetian plaster might be just the thing to take your work to the next level. It looks incredible, clients love it, and it can set you apart as someone who delivers top-notch, high-end finishes. At PaintTech Training Academy, we’re all about helping tradespeople like you level up, and our Venetian plaster course is one of the most exciting skills we’ve got on offer. Let’s talk about why it’s worth learning, the tools and products from Valpaint you’ll use, and how much money you could make.

What's Venetian Plaster All About?

Venetian plaster, or polished plaster, is a decorative finish that gives you the look of marble, stone, or even concrete. It’s been around for centuries but is currently making another comeback in the market in luxury homes, fancy hotels, and trendy commercial spaces. It’s the kind of finish that makes people stop and say, “Wow, what’s that!”

Why Add Polished Plaster to Your Toolkit?

  1. It’s in Demand: People want unique, custom looks for their spaces, and Venetian plaster gives them that wow factor that paint or wallpaper can’t match.
  2. It Pays Well: You can charge premium rates for this kind of work, which means more money in your pocket.
  3. Stand Out from the Crowd: Not everyone offers polished plaster, so it’s a great way to set yourself apart from other decorators.

What's the Earning Potential?

Here’s the best bit: polished plaster/Venetian plaster can seriously boost your income. While a standard painting job might bring in £150-£250 a day, Venetian plaster jobs often range from £400 to over £1000 a day. A single feature wall could earn you £700-£1,500. If you’re doing larger projects, you’re looking at thousands. With these kinds of numbers, it’s easy to see why trades are keen to learn this skill.
