Paint runs and how to fix them

As any sprayer knows, runs are an inevitable part of the job. These annoying paint runs can be a real nuisance to deal with, needing more sanding and touch-ups to fix. In the past, we used to sand the runs with our Mirka Deros or some Goldflex, then respray the surface and hope for no more runs. This could often turn into a frustrating and time-consuming process.

Introducing the Mirka Mini-File

This game-changer, developed by Mirka, is the perfect tool for dealing with runs! The Mirka mini-file is an essential piece of kit for any professional sprayer, as it makes removing the runs much cleaner and easier.

So what is it?

The Mirka Mini-File is a compact, double-sided tool with a coarse side and a fine side. It allows you to file off even the most stubborn runs easily. What makes this tool more effective than sanding is its precision. Instead of sanding the paint run and the surrounding area, you can specifically file off only the run, leaving the rest of the area perfect and reducing the risk of burn-through. We use them on our courses all the time, especially on our kitchen and furniture spraying course, as they are ideal for spraying kitchens. Once you try the Mirka Mini-File, you’ll get the hype, and it’s hard to go back to the old-fashioned way. Our lads at The Kitchen Painting Network always have one in their pockets without fail!

The Mirka Mini-File is a game-changing tool that has changed the way we view runs; they’re far from as annoying as they used to be. If you haven’t already, be sure to add the Mirka Mini-File to your kit. It’s a small investment that can make a big difference in your work, saving you time, effort, and frustration while helping you achieve the high-quality results your clients expect.
