What to expect on our Kitchen spraying course

Our kitchen spraying course teaches you how to use an airless sprayer to spray kitchens on-site. You will learn all the necessary techniques, tips and tricks to achieve a flawless finish on kitchen cabinets. You will also understand how to price and market kitchens to new customers. After completing our kitchen spraying course, you will walk away with a system you can start working with and a City & Guilds assurance.

Course Dates

Kitchens and Furniture course overview

You will cover the following:
• Understanding and setting up the machine
• Health & Safety
• Practical spraying and techniques
• Products – water-based systems only
• Systems and set up for spraying on-site
• Pressures and products
• Tips, tricks & masking techniques
• Spraying techniques
• Cleaning & maintenance
• Fault finding
• Practical spraying throughout the day
• Practical and written assessments will be completed

Course Objectives:
• The student will know which paints are the most suitable for painting furniture and how to prepare them
• The student will learn how to prepare the unit to be painted
• The student will be able to remove the doors and label them correctly
• The student will be able to prepare the edges of the MDF to give a professional finish
• The student will be able to spray the carcass of the furniture correctly without runs or defects
• The student will be able to spray the doors of the furniture correctly
• The student will be able to fill and caulk the furniture professionally
• The student will be able to sand and prepare the furniture to give a professional finish.
• The student will be able to apply the final coats without runs, defects or overspray.

Completing the assessments is compulsory for this programme assured by City & Guilds. However, those who do not complete it on the day will receive a PaintTech Training Academy certificate of participation and be given an opportunity to attend an additional assessment day.
