FAQ:

CITB is the industry training board for the construction sector in England, Scotland and Wales.

It’s their job to help the construction industry attract talent and to support skills development, to build a better Britain.

They are an executive non-departmental public body in charge of budget and activities. Sponsored by the Department for Education, they are also accountable to government ministers, and ultimately Parliament.

Admittedly the process may be daunting as the website can be quite intimidating and confusing but we decided to persevere and although we got some things wrong Tracey in the office worked through the whole process with us until we got the funding accepted.

“NO” as long as you use all the money for the training you applied for, then you don’t have to pay a penny back. So just make sure you complete all the training you applied for.

CITB is focused on helping my business grow and they will support me every year with more funding for further training for me and my team that won’t cost me a penny.

The majority of Decorators won’t exceed the 80K limit unless they have a blinding year and if they do then thats brilliant.

CITB training is available for you, your team, and also your sub contractors. If you are self-employed or you have your own decorating business as a Ltd company then you will probably fall into a number of camps.

This may be because you are not aware of the grants available or that you have heard you have to pay a levy every year and this has put you off. If you are going to do some training yourself that you want funding for and you have employed a sub-contractor and your wage bill is below £80K then you could claim up to £5000 per year for any training that you or your sub-contractors want to do. This is an amazing opportunity and the CITB will pay the money directly into your bank account.

This may be because you don’t know what the process is, or you don’t really know how to fill the form in. If that’s the case, we can help because we are experts at it now. Just email Tracey at courses@painttechtrainingacademy.co.uk and she will guide you through the process (for free!)

Many employers have had apprentices and have been claiming the apprentice grant for years, but they are not aware of the separate “skills and training fund” or that a lot of courses are grant eligible. Again, if this is you and you are not sure what to do then just email us and we can help.

You are a rare breed and it means that you are on the ball with your business. If this is you and you are looking for courses to spend your grant on then check out our course page or email us direct. We offer a range of cutting-edge courses for your business and would even design a bespoke course just for you if you had 5 or more people to send on the course.
