Airless Spray Painting Course Overview

  • Start time: 9:00am
  • End time: 4:30pm
 

You will need to arrive by 8:30am to start at 9.00am and we aim to finish by 4:30pm. Our two day airless spraying courses equip you with the knowledge and practical skills needed to master airless spray painting. Our courses are split over two days.

What You'll Learn in Airless Spray Painting Training

During the two days you spend with us, you’ll learn everything from the very basics through to using the equipment yourself. Our airless paint spraying courses are hands-on so that you get the real life experience you need.

What to expect on your airless spray painting course

Each day on your airless spray painting course will look different. Over the two day course, you will learn the following:

Day 1

  • Begin with an introduction to airless spraying and setup
  • Understanding airless spray systems and their benefits
  • Choosing the right sprayer, tips, and pressure settings.
  • Understanding correct techniques, distances and speed.
  • How to spray ceilings and walls.
  • Fault finding and common problems.

 

Day 2

  • This is all about woodwork. Spraying skirtings, architraves, doors and spindles.
  • Building on Day 1’s techniques and adding to them.
  • Hands-on practice on woodwork using accessories.
  • Achieving a smooth, even finish with minimal overspray
  • Cleaning and maintaining your airless sprayer for longevity
  • At the end of the day you will receive our City & Guilds Assured Certification 

 

What to bring with you 

  • NI number and photo ID (we will need this to enter you onto the Construction Training Register. This can be a driving licence, passport, ID Card or CSCS card.) 
  • Clothes you don’t mind getting messy (hopefully they won’t at all but just in case!) 
  • A mask – we have struggled to get stock of our disposable masks so do bring your own if you have one. 
  • We ask you to please bring your own packed lunch. You will be given a lunch break so if you prefer to go to the shop to purchase something that’s no problem. 
  • If you are a CITB registered employer then please bring your CITB registration number so we can process your grant claim for the course.

Directions

The site is just a short drive from the M25 and approximately 30 minutes from Gatwick Airport. Edenbridge Train Station is less than 10 minutes by car. The postcode will take you to Gabriels Farm or Gabriels Fishery (depending which direction you come from) so look out for the large yellow signs at the end of the drive. As you turn into Gabriels Farm look out for a green metal gate on the left hand side and a telegraph pole with Unit 42 written on it. We are the end 2 units in a green metal polytunnel style unit and the car park is at the end of that driveway. Please park considerately and do not block the containers.

There are several hotels and B&B’s in the Edenbridge area such as Ye Old Crowne, Lingfield is a short drive away with rooms at The Star pub, or alternatively  East Grinstead is a larger town with a Premier Inn and Travelodge plus lots more food choices for the even

Airless Spray Painting Training FAQs

Our airless paint spraying courses are for anyone in the painting and decorating trade or who wants to start out as a painter and decorator. The courses are aimed at complete beginners and experienced professionals, teaching you the fundamentals of airless spraying, and then advancing onto more complex techniques. Whether you’re a sole trader improving your own skills or a large business wanting to develop your workforce, our courses are for you.

Airless paint spraying training with PaintTech starts at £950 plus vat. This is for a two day course which, upon completion, you’ll receive an accreditation for. You can access CITB funding for your course, which will cover 50% of the cost if you meet the criteria. This means you can get started with our courses and be on your way to success without worrying about paying the full course fees.

You’ll need to wear appropriate clothing and footwear on both days of your course as you’ll be using the paint spray equipment. We’ll provide you with the equipment to use during the course, as well as appropriate PPE. Full details of everything you need will be sent prior to the course so you can be fully prepared.

Our Intensive Airless Spraying course is currently delivered at our main PaintTech Training Academy in Edenbridge, Kent.

We are also developing a growing network of approved PaintTech Training Hubs across the UK and Ireland, making selected PaintTech courses more accessible to decorators who live further away from our main academy.

Each Hub will be led by an experienced PaintTech tutor and will follow the same practical training methods, course standards and independent approach that PaintTech is known for.

Planned Hub locations include Cambridgeshire, the Cotswolds and County Galway, Ireland.

Not every course will necessarily be available at every Hub, so full location, tutor, course and booking details will be added as each Hub opens.

You don’t need any formal qualifications to become a paint sprayer.
