Our UPVC spraying course offers practical, hands-on training that will give you new skills to help you grow your business. During the course, you’ll spend valuable time on the gun, gaining first-hand experience so you really understand the spraying techniques. You’ll practise on a range of different surfaces and learn about the basics of HVLP and compressor systems, risk assessment, and effective problem-solving.

What You’ll Learn On Your UPVC Spray Course

The first day of your UPVC spraying course will cover the essential elements you need to know to get started. From there, we’ll develop into more niche areas and let you put your new skills to the test. Our UPVC spraying courses cover:

What to expect on the day

Our UPVC training courses are spread across two days. They start at 9:00am and finish at approximately 4:30pm. You will need to arrive at your location by 8:30am. Here’s what you can expect on each day.

Day 1

You will start with preparation and the fundamentals of UPVC spraying
Understanding UPVC materials and their challenges
Cleaning, degreasing, and prepping surfaces for adhesion
Masking and protecting surrounding areas
Choosing the right primers and paints for UPVC

Day 2

Advanced knowledge of spraying techniques and finishing
Hands-on spraying practice with HVLP systems
Achieving a smooth, durable, and even finish
Troubleshooting issues like runs, drips, or poor adhesion
Systems and aftercare for long-lasting results
At the end of the day you will receive a PaintTech Academy Certificate

What to bring with you

NI number and photo ID (we will need this to enter you onto the Construction Training Register. This can be a driving licence, passport, ID Card or CSCS card.)
Clothes you don’t mind getting messy (hopefully they won’t at all but just in case!)
A mask – we have struggled to get stock of our disposable masks, so do bring your own if you have one
We ask you to please bring your own packed lunch. You will be given a lunch break so if you prefer to go to the shop to purchase something, that’s no problem
If you are a CITB registered employer then please bring your CITB registration number so we can process your grant claim for the course

Directions

The site is just a short drive from the M25 and approximately 30 minutes from Gatwick Airport. Edenbridge Train Station is less than 10 minutes by car. The postcode will take you to Gabriels Farm or Gabriels Fishery (depending which direction you come from) so look out for the large yellow signs at the end of the drive. As you turn into Gabriels Farm look out for a green metal gate on the left hand side and a telegraph pole with Unit 42 written on it. We are the end 2 units in a green metal polytunnel style unit and the car park is at the end of that driveway. Please park considerately and do not block the containers.

There are several hotels and B&B’s in the Edenbridge area such as Ye Old Crowne, Lingfield is a short drive away with rooms at The Star pub, or alternatively East Grinstead is a larger town with a Premier Inn and Travelodge plus lots more food choices for the even

Who is a UPVC spray course for?

UPVC spraying courses are for anybody who wants to learn how to spray UPVC surfaces. What surfaces will I be able to spray?

During your UPVC spraying course, you’ll learn how to spray a number of surfaces. You’ll then get a chance to try out what you’ve learnt and put your skills into action. When you’ve completed the course, you’ll know how to spray all UPVC surfaces including domestic windows and doors, garage doors, conservatories, soffits and fascias, and many more.

How much are UPVC spraying courses?

Our UPVC spraying course is £900 plus vat. This is for a 2 day course that covers absolutely everything you need to know about UPVC spraying. Our courses are all eligible for CITB funding if you meet certain criteria. PaintTech can help you secure this funding, so please speak to us before you book if you’d like more help with course costs.

What equipment do I need?

UPVC spraying equipment will be provided for you, as well as a mask for your safety. You’ll need to wear suitable footwear and clothing. Full details will be provided when you book your course, and you can always ask us any questions before the day.

Where are your UPVC spraying courses delivered?

Our UPVC course is currently located at the Edenbridge Academy, ideally located for anyone in the South, however it is easy accessed via the M25, M23 and has 2 train lines into London.

Do I need experience before the course?

You do not need any prior experience to complete our UPVC Spray Course. Our courses are tailored to every level of decorating professional, from apprentices and beginners to established tradespeople and business owners. If you are completely new to UPVC spraying, you will be given all of the support you need from experienced course leaders who have been helping people get into the industry for over 10 years.

Will I get support from PaintTech after the course?

Yes, when you complete your UPVC spraying course, you will continue to be supported by Paint Tech as you apply your skills in the real world. We have PTA Support, which is a facebook group set up to help anyone who has been on a PaintTech Academy course, this means you can contact us, and others who have done the UPVC spraying course for help and advice when needed.
